Cookie policy.

The short version: this Site stores two simple preferences in your browser. It does not currently use analytics, advertising or cross-site tracking cookies.

Effective 19 August 20262 local values0 ad trackers

1. Cookies and local storage.

Cookies are small text records a website can ask a browser to store and return with later requests. Local storage is a related browser feature that stores simple values on your device but does not automatically send them with each web request. This Site currently uses local storage, not HTTP cookies, for the preferences described below.

We use the term “Cookie Policy” because visitors commonly expect this label to explain all similar browser-storage technologies. The Privacy Policy explains broader handling of technical logs and email correspondence.

2. Current storage inventory.

KeyTechnologyPurposeTypical duration
ahlAgeConfirmedFirst-party local storageRemembers that “I am 18 or over” was selected so the age notice does not appear on every page.Until you clear site data or the Site removes/changes the key.
ahlPrivacyChoiceFirst-party local storageRemembers “functional” or “essential” selection so the privacy notice does not repeatedly appear.Until you clear site data or the Site removes/changes the key.

Both values are created by script from amberhorizonlab.com and are intended to remain on your device. They contain only short settings (“yes”, “functional” or “essential”), not your name, email address or date of birth. We do not receive proof of age; the age gate records a self-confirmation only.

Essential-only choice: the current Site has no optional analytics or advertising scripts to disable. Selecting “Essential only” stores that preference and leaves only the age-confirmation function available.

3. Technologies not currently used.

At the effective date, the Site does not intentionally deploy:

  • advertising, retargeting or behavioural-profiling cookies;
  • cross-site tracking pixels or social-media tracking tags;
  • third-party audience analytics;
  • personalisation based on gambling interests or financial behaviour;
  • account, payment, deposit, affiliate-conversion or wagering cookies;
  • browser fingerprinting for marketing.

Normal website requests still reach the hosting and network infrastructure, which may produce server or security logs. Those logs are not browser cookies and are described in the Privacy Policy.

4. How to control or delete storage.

You can open the Site’s notice using the “Privacy choices” button in the footer. You can also remove the two local values through your browser settings. The exact labels vary, but common routes include “site settings”, “privacy and security”, “cookies and site data” or developer tools under “local storage”. Search for amberhorizonlab.com and clear its stored data.

Blocking all local storage should not prevent you from reading the static editorial content, but the age and privacy notices may appear again because the Site cannot remember your choices. Browser private or incognito modes often remove local storage when the session closes.

Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control

The current Site has no advertising or behavioural analytics to alter in response to these browser signals. We do not use a signal to deny access. If optional tracking is introduced in future, this policy and the consent controls should be updated before activation.

5. External websites and embedded content.

Supplier, government and support links open external websites that may set their own cookies or use other technologies. Amber Horizon Lab does not control them. Review the destination’s notices and browser choices. We do not currently embed supplier videos, maps, social feeds or third-party fonts that would load automatically merely by viewing our pages.

6. Future changes.

If we add a service that requires optional cookies or similar technologies, we will update the inventory and, where required, request a meaningful choice before activating non-essential storage. The “Effective” date will change. Material changes should be highlighted appropriately.

7. Contact.

Questions about cookies, storage or privacy choices may be sent to privacy@amberhorizonlab.com. For more information about personal information, disclosures, retention, security and complaints, read the Privacy Policy.
